Noticed some of you guys have built custom 10/22 I was just wondering if this pays off at the range? I have a Ruger 10/22 that I can hit the bottom of a pop can with at 50 yards w/ Remington hollow points but that is about it, will they do much better than that? I know it great haveing a gun that know one esle has one like, and I know the ergonomics of a custom stock helps but does it go much farther than that?

what kind of barrel did you have installed? I put a green mountain bull on mine & it's pretty descent. not quite the accuracy your getting but a 10 round clip at 50yds that can be covered with a nickel. I'm in need of a new trigger.

10/22 upgrades do work. I have used Volquartzen barrels and trigger parts and highly recommend them. I like the silo. and barracuda style aftermarket stocks.

I think his website is KYgunsmith.com.
I have a TacSol barrel and Yukon Extreme stock on mine. Squared and headspaced bolt, polished action and polished trigger with overtravel screw, larger dia. pins, tang and barrel bedded. Topped with a Fujinon 6.5-24. It's a tack driver with Eley Standard. Can't consistently get .25" (5 shots) at 50yds but I'm trying.
Here's a 50yd target. I've run probably 20 different brands through.

Here's a crappy picture of the rifle.

my 10/22 has been turned into a 17 mach 2. best squirrel rifle in the world. Magnum Research ultralight bull bbl, great trigger job.
it's a killer. headshots at 70 yards are doable.

Now that is a little more my style and price range. I just don't see spending 1000's of green on a gun that might be good to 100 yards at best. But I love ripping some pop cans apart at about 30 yards. That is probably why mine shoots so bad I've burnt out the barrlel!

Labwild,
If you are the same Labwild from ACSC, hey.
I believe some guy beat you at the club not so long ago shooting a $100 Savage Mark II .22. You need to shoot that thing prone and you will shoot lights out with it.
About the 10/22's, they can shoot great just like any gun can if it is tuned and everthing including the shooter does their part. Clean it up, trick it out, rebarrel it, put on a new trigger or do what ever you want to it but most of all just shoot it. The better you are the better the gun will be.
Lab, see ya at the range.
