I am thinking about getting my oldest son a good concealable pistol for Christmas. He owns his own business & has a CC permit in Georgia so I want to get him a good, accurate gun he would feel comfortable carrying.
I am trying to keep the cost around $500.00, so that rules out my favorites- Para-Ordnance.45 or Kimber.
Although I am not crazy about Glocks I've been looking at some of them. Bear in mind that he is not a big guy, maybe 5'9" and around 150lbs..(his mom was 4'10"). So, with those parameters in mind, what do you'all reccomend?

I myself am not crazy about the glocks especialy for conceal and cary cause of no safety! I would definantly go with a .45 acp though!

taurus millennium pro 140 (.40 cal) or 111 (9mm), or there is a new taurus 9mm called the "slim" coming out at the end of the year that is suppose to be a really great cc gun. I have the 140 and really like it. None of these are very expensive. If your looking for something smaller the ruger LCP .380 is cheap too.

Check out the XD Compact. I had a Kahr CW9 and couldn't hit very well with it. I also have a glock, but I just picked up this XD used and really like it. I like the grip safety. Also you might want to look at the Sig P6 surplus guns out there. And maybe even a SIG 228.

I have a Glock 23. It is accurate, reliable, and compact. I reccomend Glocks highly. I recently purchased a Kahr CW9. I have not shot it as much (yet) but so far I am impressed. The Kahr CW series pistols are priced right.

It's probably a bit out of your price range but if my dad were to buy me a Sig P239 (http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=9&productid=71), I'd vote him best dad in the world :D. Those Sig P225/P6's (http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Sig_Sauer_P225_P6_9mm_Pistol.html) that are sold as German police trade-ins seem like very nice guns for a real good price but I think things like spare mags and holsters might be hard to find.
Look at the CZ 2075 (http://www.cz-usa.com/product_detail.php?id=48). Very nice. Any of the CZs, really.
Also, the wheelguns mentioned below would be good choices within your price range (I think). Don't forget, too, the red-headed stepchild Taurus 605 (http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=240&category=Revolver).
x2 for the CZ's. They really don't get the credit they deserve. An Excellent Excellent firearm
