I have a encore pistol that has iron sights on it and I want to put a scope on it. Are the scope mount holes under the rear sight?

Yes the holes for the scope mount are under the rear sight.
If you havent purchased the scope mount yet there are a few different ones to choose from here are 2 that I have. The upper pic is a mount from TC the bottom pic is a weaver mount.

The TC mount is a better mount than the weaver.
