Have any of you used the SST - Are they a little tougher than most non bonded polymer tip bullets or are they nothing but a glorified ballistic tip?
Using a 308 150 grain sst on whitetails - could they withstand shoulder shots?
I think so. It is what I use in my .30-06. I took a shoulder shot on a doe a last year and it performed perfect. Of course if you ask someone else about what ever type bullet they use it will probably do just as good.
If you have a bolt action (well anything other than an automatic) you may want to check out the Hornady Light Mag SST. The light mag line offers the best ballistics out of any factory loads that I have found
