Anybody know anything about this round. Has it taken off like intended? From what I could gather, LE wanted a .45 in 9mm/.40 size frame, thus the creation of the GAP. I just dont want to purchase a 45 GAP if a box of shells is going to cost me $50 in ten years due to low demand, If that may be the case, I'll just get the 45 ACP

+1 on the price in 10 years, maybe sooner. Probably a solution to a problem that didn't exist. Seems like they are always coming out with new cartridges, always the latest and greatest. If you look back at all the new cartridges that have been introduced in just the last 30 years see how many of them are still popular. When you look at their balistics they are not much different from the old rounds. I never buy guns that are not chambered in standard calibers just for the reason you stated above.

Nevermind, I found my answer, I just didnt look in the right place. I was looking for a XD 45 and a local shop had one used in 45 GAP. Now just figure out if I want a compact or not. Thanks

'tis a silly round.
I suppose it would be ok if you wanted to get one just because nobody else has em. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with the old stand-bys. Newer isn't always better. But older is always easier to find ammo for.
.357 sig is another silly round.
