man that was boring. seems like the last two years there have been several issues with tires and certain tracks. I didn't think it was very entertaining at all today.
Why doesn't nascar allow other tire companies in? They have evry other king of product why not tires? I don't know if it would have helped today but it may have made it more interesting.

Anybody else notice all the drivers and crew chiefs kissing Goodyear's butt? After Tony Stewart laid a smack-down on them for crappy tires earlier in the season, everybody has had nothing bad to say about them. It's a shame that everybody is so intimidated by NASCAR and the power they wield, that they are willing to keep their mouth's shut and risk getting a driver killed by running garbage like they did today. I wish they could get back to the old days when they settled disputes by taking the helmets off and stomping azz. NASCAR should refund every red cent of ticket and commercial revenue they took in today. No excuse for putting that crap today out and calling it "racing"!

Yeah, smoke was even the in-car reporter and when DJ asked him about the tires I was ready for a classic Stewart smart aleck remark. Nothin'.
There wasn't much racing today.

we all know that nascar is like the redneck mafia - they take care of those that take care of them. either your in or your out - and if your out, you ain't gettin in, e.g., jerry carrol and ky. speedway, hoosier tire or b'stone !
remember jeff burton and his cingular car/lawsuit with sprint, kevin harvick and shell/pennzoil vs. sunoco ? butter their bread and they'll take care of
it - including letting anybody else in.
and if there ain't anything in the rule book to cover a particular situation, then they'll very quickly add a bulletin to make it so !!
and speak out about it, they'll remind you that they control whom gets to race and whom they can pull the credentials from, hency Mr. niceguy tony stewart.

And in case you missed it during the race...you can almost hear the puckering from here:

We're all on the same page.....
You think? Childress', Hendrick's and Gibbs' answers sounded very similar and very scripted. You can almost hear Helton and Pemberton prior to the race and after seeing the tire issue develop the past week: "We're all on the same page on this in that Goodyear and NASCAR are doing an outstanding job under tough circumstances, yada, yada, yada, or else."

The second worse race i have ever watched. The worst was the New Hampshire restrictor plate race in 2000!

I would have thought you dirt racer guys would have liked that race. It was like a bunch of heat races before the feature race. All of them sucked. HEATH

Its a safety issue, back in the day there was the "tire war" and manufacturers were making tires that raced really good but were junk on longevity and blowouts were as common as yesterdays cautions. I say let another manufacturer come in on those tracks that goodyear cant get a handle on

There's a lot of criticism coming down on NASCAR from the media. They can somewhat hold the tongues back of the teams and their crews, but not the good old media! Here's a great blog:
