That's a beautiful mount and base. I was wondering if I would take a velvet buck or not. I think you might have answered my question. Great deer and good luck this season.

That made the second year my son and I have been after this deer.He ran with a smaller lookout that was very spooky.2006 he was a main 12 with a drop tine.We saw him several times until the last week in Sep.He disappeared until after gun season and was seen at night crossing the road about two miles away.I saw him again the last week in December hoping he would make it .
We knew he was there and added video footage to the previous year.We hung stands a week before season and stayed out of the area.I had figured out what they were doing and knew a morning hunt or a scouting trip in the woods and it would be over,he would disappear again.
I had my stands about 70 yards apart and could see one from another.Saturday evening I went to the stands watching the wind trying to figure out which one was best.I climbed in the stand trying not to sweat and waited.Every deer I saw that evening was standing 15 yards from my other stand.Iwas upset that I had chosen the other tree.I sat and a doe came out followed by the "lookout buck". Then my buck stepped out and walked directly beside the empty stand.I was then sick stuck with counting points with binoculars. Then I caught movment of a small buck right under me.The other deer started walkling my way.The lookout ran off the smaller buck then my buck ran him off giving me a twelve yard broadside shot.I made a perfect shot and after trailing was glad to finally put hands on this deer.I don't think my heart has ever beat so many times in one day.I will tell you scent control is worth it and done right it pays off.

Why wasnt he in the article in the August 2008 KY Game and Fish Magazine. The one which included some great velvet bucks form the 2007 KY archery season.
