Hey, I was out tonight in the stand for the 2nd time this year. Saw 8 bucks. 5 no doubters and a 160 class 10 pointer that got me a bit fired up at under 100 yards. I did notice a disturbing sight though.....one that I wondered about in November and December last year.....I saw 5 mature does without little ones. I did see 1 doe with triplets though. I noticed no, I mean NO rutting activity last year. The does and for that matter, the bucks were in no mood to chase or be chased. Did anyone else have that problem and see the results I saw tonight?????? Thanks.

It is quite possible that the Does you saw without fawns did have them, but they were just bedded down nearby. From my observations, little ones will lay down in the edge of a field while mom is out there getting something to eat.

I have to agree with Kidd, more than likely the little one where well hid somewhere, you could almost step on them and they wouldn't move.I have seen several fawn, while I've been driving the back roads.

I also agree they were probably around just had them bedded down close by, and alway there are those little ones that don't always make it either:( that could have been the case for 1 or 2 of the does.

early in the day, I'd agree. I watched all these does travel 4 to 500 yards to a corn field though. Hope you'll are right. If anyone is wondering, I've only seen 1 coyote in the past 3 deer and turkey seasons.

I have noticed the same thing on my farm. There are several does that I watch every day in the food plots, and only one has a single fawn. Even with 9 trail cams out, very few does have fawns trailing them in the pics. I believe something has happened this year "in some areas" to effect the bredding of does.
