I've read the rules for WMA's and while I don't have the particular quote handy,I know it's illegal to take or pick plants or trees, but you used to be allowed to pick blackberries,I wanted to pick some on Mulliins WMA if there is still some there, used to be, anyhow don't want to get in trouble?

I don't know the law regarding this either. However the berries are wildlife food, and just like it would be frowned upon to harvest sunflowers from a public dove field, you're taking wildlife food. Just something to think about...
Contact Dave Frederick 800-858-1549 during normal business hours, he will give you the answer....

That's why I asked,I have old WMA guides from the 60's and 70's that state Berry Picking as one of the activities at some of the WMA's.I figured that like everything else some folks overdo and ruin a good thing.meanwhile I always seem to share my garden and crops on my place with the wildlife, just don't have any blackberries.
Thanks for the response and number CSS.

I've called Dave Frederick twice and left messages, still haven't gotten a reply.Tried the listed number for several local WMA's and only get this weird beeping sound but not a fax or answering machine. It's the same number listed in local phone books for KDF&W but isn't any good.859-428-2262

I've asked about Taylorsville WMA, they allow berry picking there. It should be the same for other areas as well. Enjoy!
