Yikes, seems like the PH is really low no wonder getting anything to grow isn't working. Anyone have PH this low and recovered in the same year for a plot?

Yes, You can correct it quicker with pelleted lime, but it costs more.

If you are close to a rock quarry you can get it their. My farm is located in Shelby/ Franklin Co. I had the rock quarry in Frankfort haul me 17 tons and it cost 213.00. They even put it on each individual field for me so now all I have to do is spread it which i will be doing this weekend. The cost pre ton if you want to haul it yourself is 7.95 a ton. good luck.

You need to correct pH on 1/4 acres or 50 acres? If 1/4 acre, use bags of pelletized lime.
On larger tracts, if accessible, get someone to spread agricultural limestone with lime spreader truck. Probably 3-4 tons per acre. Anytime ground is dry, is a good time to do it. Like now.

There is some debate as to whether or not pelletized works any faster than traditional ag lime, but I would use both. Pelletized doesn't last as long as traditional, so even if you use pelletized, make sure you use some ag lime also.
4.5 and 5.0 is not that bad too start off with, you would be surpised how you can get a ph up there using the correct methods. I would throw some lime down, and stick with foodplots that don't require as high of a ph. Stay away from beans, alfalfa and any other crops that require high ph's.

Get one of the liquid ph adjusters and plant an annual suited to lower ph. It will manipulate your soil ph, but is a short lived fix. In January/february apply a ton of lime per acre or whatever the recommendations were from your test results. You can apply another ton in April.
