Cincinnati Police say a man used a brick to thwart a would-be cell phone thief Wednesday morning.
Police responded to a report of a person hit in the head by a brick in the 1500 block of St. Claire Avenue in Mt. Healthy around 9:15 a.m.
After questioning the suspect, police discovered the incident started when his cell phone was stolen by a teenage boy.
The suspect told police he chased the would-be thief and threw a brick at his head in an attempt to retrieve the phone.
As a result of the incident, the teen was taken to University Hospital for treatment and the accused brick thrower was charged with assault.

So let me get this straight - the criminal gets pampered at the hospital and the victim of the criminal gets charged with a crime!?!? Un-fricken-believable.

Yes it is ridiculous that he was charged, but "charged" is a far cry from "convicted." Just look at the reaction here and from the comments section after the story. I'm with the cop in that all he has to do is take it to a jury of his peers. There is no way in heck he'll get a unanimous vote from a jury to convict. If the DA is smart he'll drop the charges before this goes any further, imo.

Yes, but the sad part is...If the charges aren't dropped and he does go to court. Look at the money he'll probably be out for having to defend himself, loss of wages from work and so forth.....

Might even ban him from the Conceal and carry law with a "BRICK"....... I just had to throw that one in....:D.. Man I got to quit.....thinkin about that brick....:D:D

Its a sad reality, but if he has to defend himself in court, it probably would have been cheaper to just let the kid have the phone.
