With this warm weather we're about to have we all need to be trapping coons before the season goes out. I put out around 30 coon sets today and should have several in the morning. Prices will be higher than in the previous few years.

Snareman: How long do coon furs stay good and prime? If they stay good for awhile I might try to get some for this year. I just got done skiinin a muskrat that I caught in one of my beaver sets. Where do you sell your furs? I don't know of any place to sell my furs except the fur takers auction and if I trapped anymore I would have to hold them til next year. I would need a special permit to do that if I could even get one. I still have the fever and if I have a place to sell fur I will trap some more.

Where are you located? There are fur buyers scattered across the state. You can also mail them off to the big Canadian Fur companies. As far as prime furs goes, I don't know. Many talk of coons breeding and the boars in Feb. rubbing their necks ruining the fur but I've never experienced this. I'm still catching several coons. Put out some coyote sets today, should have a couple in the morining.

Snareman: I am in Lincoln County, KY. It is south of Lexington and right above Somerset. Could you tell me where the closest buyer would be.

17,

I'm familiar with Lincoln Co. but don't know of any fur buyers in the area.
