Hi all, my family and I are considering relocating to KY and looking at a place near Quality. I was wondering what you thought of the hunting, fishing and life in general in the area. This would be a really big move for us and a leap of faith, any help you can give to shed light on our decision would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Mike

The mayor of Quality is on this site....Lab can fill you in when he logs on. My only concern with moving to Quality would be the traffic. I heard Mrs. Jones say just the other day that two tractors, a school bus and the mailman all drove by her house the same day:D
The hunting and fishing is good there, although I've been pretty unsuccessful when I visited a couple of times.:D As far as life in general there, I didn't see much else going on. Seems like a good place to be if you want to get away from it all....I mean ALL of it.:D

It like what I just read in yesterday's newspaper: They were showing a new guy around Heaven when they went past an area with a bunch of people locked up behind a fence. The new guy asked why all those people were in Heaven but locked up behind a fence. The guy giving the tour told him that they were from Kentucky. If they didn't keep them locked up, they'd keep trying to get back!

I am too ready to get over there, the wife is going to fly to TN and drive up for a job interview in bowling green and to look at the property. :o We are living about an hour from Las Vegas right now on the CA border. It's hot and dry and dusty. My kids sleep all day and stay up all night cause it's so hot. I'm ready for change, I truly hope the grass is greener cause right now I aint got any!

Jedicazador,
Welcome! I just came in from weedeating and thought it was getting hot, until I read your post. No grass and probably no ticks. It will be a culture shock for sure, when you move, but will be worth it. Good Luck:D

Ptbrauch,
That is hilarious. I'm partial to being home, somebody would probably have to lock me up too.

Welcome,
It's a great place to live if you can find work. I would never leave, my roots go back to the pioneers. There are jobs, but not many with high enough pay to have any wiggle room. Some areas of the state are better than others. One good thing is the cost of living is low, so it doesn't take as much if you live an average simple life style and don't buy yachts, etc.:D

well as of right now work isn't an issue, sort of. I got ill with some kinda blood cancer kinda like leukemia and then lost my pituitary, so I had the opportunity to retire. I was a Deputy Sheriff for 11 some years, 8-9 of I was the sniper on swat. I then worked in the schools and taught DARE and GREAT. I loved my work, but you have to play the cards your dealt, you know? So I took a medical pension and get a small amount of cash monthly. It's not enough to live on out here but I think we'll do better for ourself s there. My wife has some interviews in Bowling Green. She's flying out Monday to check it out.
About all I do is hunt. I used to go everyday, lot's of coyote here, deer, I havnt had the opportunity to get into many cause you have to draw for a tag here and I've only draw three times in my life. I've gotten two. Well I've shot three my buddy tagged the 1st one. Never drawn for antelope, elk, sheep, or goat. Ducks are few but I still go three or four times a week just to get out. My kids love to hunt too, we're into archery, and reload just about anything. I'm really excited to get out there! I hope to meet some of ya if things work out.
