When the Senate and Congress are in session, I know that's when they are trying to get the laws passed. What are they doing the rest of the time? They have to be politicking in their states and not just on vacation right?

Generally theyre "supposed" to be in thier home states, districts, meeting with the citizens, hearing their concerns and trying to gain support for causes, laws. But who knows???? Im sure that most of them are up to no good.

They're mooching off the lobbyists and stabbing all us taxpayers in the back.
Both damn sides of the aisle. How do you figure most become multi-millionaires on a Congressional salary?

That's what I thought. So I did some research and the average salary for a legislator is $169,300. According to these links
http://www.house.gov/house/House_Calendar.shtml
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/resources/pdf/2008_calendar.pdf
they are in session about 200 days a year. That's $846.50 per person per day. With 535 legislators that makes $452,877.50 per day total. This makes a grand total of $90,575,500.00 of our tax dollars shelled out every year to folks that it sometimes seems don't give a rats a$$ what we think. And let's not even get started on benefits. Maybe we should try to get windfall profits taxes passed on them.
