about a month ago my mother who is 87 now fell on the porch and broke her hip.after surgery and a couple weeks of rehab.we had to do the hardest thing we ever had to do.and that was to place her in a nurseing home because her medicare wouldnt pay for her rehab any longer.not long ago we could see she was starting to get alzhiemers pretty bad.i dont know if anyone on here has ever been through anything like this and if you have i feel for you.in a way it makes you feel like your turning your back on the one person that was always there for you.my father died when i was 5 yrs.old and my mother worked and raised us by herself.we didnt have much but we always had a roof over our heads and food on the table.she is just a down to earth country person who would always go out of her way to help or give anything she could to help somebody out.its sad to go by her house now and not see a garden or the flowers she always had every summer.i keep hoping and praying that she will get to come back home but deep down i know its not going to happen because of the alzhiemers.yesterday when i went to see her she started crying wanting me to take her home.talk about ripping your heart out.because you know theres nothing you can do.please say a prayer for her and remember to tell your parents you love them everyday.because they can be here today and gone tomorrow.i wish i could bring her home with me but because of the care she requires i know its not possable.and it makes me feel about an inch tall because theres nothing i can do about it.i dont hardly ever post on here anymore i just thought i would ask that you keep her in your prayers thanks alot.

Hang in there Watermelon.I am nearing your same situation. My father has Lou Gehrigs disease and has almost lost his speech completely.I miss his sun morning phone calls terribly.I stop by his house as much as possible and we can communicate somewhat but I know how it feels to see them grow old.Take Care and I will be thinking of you and your family in my prayers.

Don't know if this is appropriate or not,but Watermelon grew up in the same hollow I did and we've known each other all our lives. After his dad died, his Mom raised 7 kids by herself, they were so poor they had a groundhog for a pet,it would come to his mom every spring and climb on her shoulder anytime she called it.Now I'm not the most religious guy around, but this a true story also, their house burned to the ground in 68' and they lost everything in the place except for two things, the family bible that set on a dresser was untouched, and the dresser it set on was scorched bad but intact. That tells me someone has been looking out for Demia all along Jack and she'll be OK.Your mother was like a 2nd mom to me,if I showed up at her house soaking wet in the middle of the night, she'd take me in and feed me and dry my clothes,if you needed it she'd give you her last penny.I still laugh today about the time I took her a mess of squirrels with the heads cut off and she got mad at me because she liked the head meat.
Mine and my families prayers are with her,I'll go see her this week first chance I get.
