Just in case you happened to see the ABC News piece (if you watch ABC News) with interviews of 5 military folks in Iraq, planned to vote for Obama and 2 for Hillary; no mention of any McCain supporters. Well, here's the "Rest of the Story."
************************************************** ********************************************
Lou, This from Major General (ret) Buckman, a close friend of ours.
************************************************** *******************************************
"My niece, Katelyn, stationed at Baluud , Iraq was assigned, with others of her detachment, to be escort/guard/ watcher for Martha Raddatz of ABC News as she covered John McCain's recent trip to Iraq. Katelyn and her Captain stood directly behind Raddatz as she queried GI's walking past. They kept count of the GI's and you should remember these numbers. She asked 60 GI's who they planned to vote for in November. 54 said John McCain, 4 for Obama and 2 for Hillary.
Katelyn called home and told her Mom and Dad to watch ABC news the next night because she was standing directly behind Raddatz and maybe they'd see her on TV. Mom and Dad of course, called and emailed all the kinfolk to watch the newscast and maybe see Katelyn.
Well, of course, we all watched and what we saw wasn't a glimpse of
Katelyn, but got a hell'uva view of skewed news. After a dissertation on McCain's trip and speech, ABC showed 5 GI's being asked by Raddatz how they were going to vote in November; 3 for Obama and 2 for Clinton . No mention of the 54 for McCain."

No suprise there. Thats all the new has done, is pump up Obama. The only news i watch is Fox. Seems like they are the only ones who are atleast trying to tell the truth.

CBS just got caught with their pants down again. They had some story linking earthquakes with global warming that was unverified before they went on the air. It turns out the story was false. The study quoted was done by some Australian quack and does not stand up to even the most basic of scientific scrutiny.

Goes to show even the Military peeps are smart enough to not put someone in the Commander In Chief's position who only has 143 days experience as a US Senator. You can make that 5 for Obama...they must not have asked Grouser68 and his wife...But then again...Grouser68 could have been one of those 3 votes Obama got in the first place.....

well, it makes sense that most military people would want to vote for McCain. These are people that for the most part agree with the war and think we should be over there. Otherwise why did they sign up?

I have to be a little skeptical of any internet story regarding politics. Both sides like to cook up stories that help support their particular views.
ABC news has been shown many times to skew their reporting to suit their needs, and this case may be no different but still, I'd like to see this soldier interviewed to be sure she actually exists, and that it actually happened.

What !!!! You don't believe the news when their reporting about how their polls are going?
Grouser68,
Sorry but I'm sure most of your buddies and others that hang with you are most likely Dem's as well and true and honest Polls can't be completed unless a Bi-partisan person takes the poll. Maybe a non-Military person could take the poll, but the entire unit would need to be polled in order to get an actual solid count on who is voting for who.......:)

My buddy that just left to go back to Iraq(was on 2 week leave for birth of his son) was talking about all the political bs while we were flippin channels. He said he hasn't heard one person in his batalion or anybody that goes on missions with them that wants to vote for Obama. He said of course it doesn't really matter who gets it, either way this war won't end in the next 10 years, hell, think about it, weren't the dems gonna change that when they got elected in Congress??;)

neither the democrats or the republicans will change anything that matters. They have now effectively become the same party, and have kept the public from noticing this by still arguing viciously over small, inconsequential things. When the rubber meets the road, they both pull together and compromise to screw the American people.
