I just hit a turkey nest with my mower in the hay field. I saw her fly up and I was wondering what the deal was. I found out yesterday as I was hauling in hay. She looked like a young hen and had around 4 eggs. I have enough trouble with the fawns let alone turkey nests. I guess some of that late gobbling is for real?

We flushed a hen in our dove field yesterday with 7 poults that were tiny, just slightly bigger than a quail. guess there was a little late breeding going on.

Always some late breeding. Some hens renest after loosing a nest.
Found a nest with 6 eggs in it Thursday while running the tedder over some wet hay. I honestly don't know how we missed it mowing unless she came in after the fact. I marked it so my step-dad would nit hit it while raking. Don't know if she has come back to it or not.
