Youth model.......I would keep the full or no more then the xfull in it. Pattern the gun with the full it came with if it came with three chokes....like I believe they do new.
One, with youth, if that is whom I assume will be shoothing the gun, you do not want them taking the longer shots and keeping the shots no longer then what you have practiced with them.
Two, within this range, the full is more then adequate. I think starting out you want to be able to shoot that biird in face and make sure its down. Nothing is more frustrating to a kid the missing and why increase the chances by marginal shots with little hearts racing?
The guy that first took me turkey hunting down at Fort Benning Ga, told me there was no need for anything but a full...... the others were for people who couldn't call.....LOL.
Of course now I can't help but tinker with different chokes.....guess I can' t call.....LOL

I would recommend nothing more than a full choke on a 20 gauge with some Nitro H 276 Hevi Shot shells .....Makes no difference if its a youth gun or not.......I wouldnt be surprised if it out shoots most regular 12 gauge 3" turkey load and choke combos out there....

My son nailed his first turkey with an 870 and a full choke at 40 yards. Thats the max distance we practiced and felt comfortable.

Thanks guys, some real interesting comments there. Think I will shoot this gun a few time with some different shells and see.

I agree, I shoot this same load with a Pure Gold .555 choke & it patterns right up their with my 12's 3" guns!
