My first time going, but won't be the last! We had a blast and pretty steady shooting. Had our aim been better, we woulda filled the boat. I hit the second fish I shot at, about an 8lb bighead. Went down hill form there. I ended up boating 3 and losing 2. I spent a good portion of the night running the camera or trolling motor. About the time we were ready t go, we got into some huge schools of silver carp. Sure was fun!

All of these were shot within 3 miles of the dam at KY lake on the river side.

I've always wanted to have a paddlefish mounted, and a longnose gar.

These were from the Tennessee River, all within a couple miles of the dam. Those are some giants in those pics! We saw several that would've topped 40lbs, but they were faster than we were..... We went to Barren River Lake tonight and got skunked. We did find some frogs in one cove to keep us occupied for an hour or so. Only saw 2 gar and 2 carp all night and our aim was off. We're gonna head back to KY lake tommorow night and hopefully get back into the schools below the dam.

What do you all do with those fish after you shoot them?

Prob the worst decission you have ever made SD. Next thing you know you'll have a bowfishing boat and thousand$$$ rapped up in gear! LOL

It's the most addicting thing I've ever gotten envloved in.
Congrats on the fish. It takes a little practice, but you get the hang of it quick.
That's the same area we took Holedigger and Buckfever a few weeks ago. We just ran down river from the dam.

Lot of boat shooting down there this weekend. They were filming for the next Campbells Outdoor Challenge Thurs, Fri, and Sat.

Well all those boats didn't hurt the numbers none, we filled the boat last night! The most fun I've had with a bow!!!! 4 of us went last night and wanted to get in some paddle fish and had heard they were using the area close to the dam. We boated 3 goodones along with 9 gar and several buffalo then headed back to between the bridge and boat dock and proceeded to slaughter asian carp. 50 fish total between 4 guys. We got a ton of footage and wore blisters on our fingers. Lowe, you're right, I'm already looking around for a boat and browsing bowfishing sites.
Here's the pics from last night.

Officer Daniel Richardson has a nice rig for sale....IMO the price is right.
I'm getting the itch and may have to make another trip down real soon. The dang fuel down there and back kills me though....but it looks like it's gonna be a while before we can whack some of those giant bigheads like Darrian posted and my boats getting lonely!!!

Check out Daniels boat....he's stationed at Kuttawa.

can one of you guys send me those pics or post them up here. You have to be registered to see those attachments on the other forum. When you guys head back down, let me know, maybe we can meet up and double team em, there was more than enough fish for 2 boats! lol BTW, have any of you guys tried to get those silvers to jump for aerial shots? We had a few come out of the water last night. I thonk we might play with em next time with the outboard to see if we can make em fly.

Run a generator and lights into those submerged tree tops and WATCH OUT! They'll come flyin out everywhere....if not...stomp on the deck when you pull up to the trees!
I shot one out of the air on KY Afield about 4-5 years ago. Ain't nothin to it. LOL
