Anybody else hate the circus?

The Ringling Brothers Circus is in town this weekend. I'm not a tree hugger or anything but I can't stand how they "train" the animals to ride bikes and stand on their head and such. As comedian Robert Schimmel said, "That bear's not riding a bike. They nailed his feet to the pedals and beat him with a stick: He's trying to run away!"

Your right if people only knew how they actually train these animals to perform.....Peeps could just go to the zoo and see the animals....

I feel the same. It's kind of sad for animals to spend their lives doing stupid tricks for snotty nose kids, and then live in a cage with carnies the rest of the time.

I saw a show I believe on the History or Discovery Channel not too long ago. About a guy who took in wild animals that have been used in Circus's, had been owned by people as pets or injured and brought to him on his preserve. He had all kinds of cats, deer, birds and other such animals.

He took care of them trying to give them a place to feel safe and some what in their own environment, but since they could not be turned loose to the wild for one reason or another he did the best he could for them. The leopard he had liked to have it's meat put into a cardboard box and hidden up in a tree. The guy said that the cat played with the box like crazy until it was tore to shreds and then the next day he would get another box to play with after eating his meal for the day.

Yeah, I laugh when the hippies talk about why they have no idea why a tiger or a bear would attack its trainer...hummm..maybe because its a wild freakin animal that eats living things?!

I gotta admit, I don't really feel for people who get eaten by a tiger or squashed by an elephant. If you play with fire long enough, expect to get burned. MOst of us are smart enough to not want to lock ourselves in a cage and whip tigers for years and years.

got it in email. That vid has been edited down. The total vid is longer and more graphic. that lion held that guy by the neck awhile before the guy with the gun got there. You could see his breathing just about stop. he surely died.
