and the dow took a DIVE!! Anybody see that! Wow...its scarey to think what its gonna be like in just 3 months!! Wonder where those dollar a gallon gas prices are some predicted soon...heck maybe Argentina will hit a dollar soon! I'm a broke college student, I drive 1/4 mile to work, 4 miles to campus(when classes are in). I finally got my bike fixed the other day and am planning on riding it to work just to save every penny I can. I helped my mom move alot of furniture Monday through Wednesday and she offered to fill my truck up, since I refused to let her pay me since I was saving her from getting a mover I said yes. I took $60 for 3/4 of a tank...and I drive a 04 ranger!! My soon to be bro in law filled up his farm truck..and f250 and it cost him $200!! Hopefully soon I will spend the $1 and buy my winning lottery ticket and never have to worry about gas prices again...atleast I can dream of it!

Its getting a little old. Seems like all i do anymore is work, to fill up the tank so me and her can go to work. If you want to scare yourself see how many hours you have to work to cover your fuel cost.

I swear, as soon as the news of the oil hitting 139.00 a barrel yesterday. The gas stations raised their prices 18 cents from 3.81 to 3.99. I got lucky I hit a station that still had it at 3.82 and filled up the wife's Escape...28.39 for a little over 7 gallons. Too bad I wasn't in my truck to get the cheap stuff...yeah right cheap is an after thought these days.....

Went from $3.74gal here where I am in Georgia to $3.85 !!
Time to atart poking holes in Alaskas ANWR and off the coast of Florida and just tell the tree huggin enviromentalist to sit down and shut up:mad:
You can thank the democrats who control congress and the senate thank you for recently voting down drilling in ANWR . Do ya you think that would have put a bit of a damper on oil prices ?

May not matter to some, but I always buy a cup of coffee and a newspaper at the local gas station. Overnight the large coffee went from 1.05 to 1.25. Lady there told me its due to "fuel costs". I oughta get a free pot of coffee for what these shites are charging for gas.

gotta disagree with that one. Most of the oil prices now are based on speculation of oil futures, not the physical supply on hand. If the U.S. announced today that we were immediately going to start drilling on and off shore and start building new refineries, the futures would drop like a rock. Even if it took 5-7 years to be completely up and running (and that would be best case scenario) the futures would still fall based on the upcoming drop in demand.

The futures market is getting ready to change too. That will help alot.

That is what has me sick to my stomach. I work at a sporting good store full time making under $10 an hour. I am REALLY glad my mom got a condo in Owensboro now and sold her house in Utica. I went home atleast 2 times a month to help around the house and yard with stuff she couldn't do due to health problems. Now there is no yard and very little she can't do since she got a place with no 2nd floor. I'll be saving tons of money on gas once she is unpacked completly, which I am helping with alot. I'm getting my fiance to cut back on driving too, trying to get her to find a new job in Bowling Green until she finds a full time job. She drives 25 minutes one way to Franklin to work at a pharmacy...and there are plenty here in Bowling Green. I wish I could talk her into buying some land up and paying it off and living in a cabin in the middle of the woods with our cows, pigs and chickens and BIG garden. A trip to town maybe once every couple of months since we would be living off what we grew...of course that trip would only be because Coach just came out with a new purse and she would have to have the new design while feedin the critters:rolleyes::D
On the way home from work last night I got 19 gallons of diesel fuel, a 12 pack, and a Gatorade....$107:D

Thats a problem here in eastern kentucky, travel time to go anywhere, even to the closest gas station is extreme. My wife and I both drive an hour one way to get to work, but I guess that is the price you pay for seclusion.

yeah and its a high price. I have a friend that has a 125 mile round trip to work each day, but he gets to carpool with people now so its no as bad. He was spending $400-500 back a couple years ago, now he still spends almost that much and only drives every other week! I spend roughly $200 a month, but considering I don't make much at all that is ALOT of money to be just throwing out the tailpipe!

Doesn't anybody watch the news???
Yesterday the Israel Defense Minister told the news that if Iran is allowed to go ahead with their plans for a nuclear bomb then Israel will take them out themselves. This is the frist time anyone from the Israel govt has OFFICALLY said that.
If this happens Iran will then close off the Strait of Hormuz cutting off ALL OIL FROM THE MIDDLE EAST TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. It's less than 15 miles wide, easy to close off and when they try to do that the US Navy will be in a battle with Iran to keep it open.
Once he said that on TV then oil prices started climbing then the US govt came out with the employment data and that help push the price up.
If war breaks out between Iran and Israel $150 a barrel will be cheap.

We only have to a 20-30min trip one way, and thats bad enought. But this dang stop and go traffic on Nicholasville road is what kills our MPG.
