My son is now back in Iraq after his two week leave. The next time I see him he will be another year older. It's tough.

We need to show more sympathy for these people.

* They travel miles in the heat.

* They risk their lives crossing a border.

* They don't get paid enough wages.

* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.

* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.

* They rarely see their families and they face adversity all day every day... And I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans!
I'm talking about our troops!

Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans
are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegal's,
but don't support our troops and
are now threatening to cut funding for them?

canemaker, thank you and your family for your sacrifice to this country. Your son is a hero and a patriot in my book and I have never met him. Your point about the illegal invaders is 100% point on! I have a friend whose son is on his 3rd tour in Iraq right now and he says this is by far the worst due to the fact that things are SO MUCH BETTER that they are bored most of the time. He saw a lot of action the 1st 2 tours and is amazed how the country is doing so much better now. Maybe your son can stay occupied and not in harm's way. God bless him and your family.

Amen brother!!! I have been saying the same thing for a while now. An illegal alien in our country is treated better than our soldiers and their families that they leave behind when they are gone to war. As far as that goes though, an illegal alien actually has more rights these days in America than we do as citizens here!!! It is a disgrace how most of our country's so called leaders turn their back on the very people that put them in their elected office. Now it seems though that we never have any decent God fearing people run for any office anymore. In my opinion, these are some dark times we are living in here in America when it comes to the types of leaders we have "running" our country. It seems the only running they do is running us in the ground!!!

It's our prayer that the good Lord watches over him and gives you all stength and peace each day. We take alot of things for granted lot's of times when others have fought for our freedom.
