AR-15 in 6.8mm

The ballistics indicate it would be a fine deer weapon, as are most all cartridges between .243 and .458 caliber. Hornady introduced a suitable hunting bullet just for the new cartridge.

From what I remember, it is ballistically equivalent to a .308. It's really too bad the 6.8 didn't take off for military use. The 6.5 Grendel worked out better, but I really liked the 6.8

To answer your question though, it should prove to be a great deer cartridge.
