Just wondering if anyone had a opinion about the martin bengal ?
I purchased one last year and have loved every min with this product. The only problem i have had is the speed im pulling 70lbs at 28"in draw and im only at 254 fps .
I emailed martin and they made no sense to me at all any opinion/Like I said i love the bow but if ure going to advertise a bow that shoots 320fps then it should be that.

It will shoot that fast, but you have to understand where they get those numbers. That 320 fps is the IBO speed. That is what the bow will do with a 350 grain arrow ( 5 grains per pound of draw weight), bow set at 70 pounds, and 30 inch draw length.

What arrow are you using? Odds are you are shooting a heavier arrow.

Total arrow / point weight..... 28" draw(anything shorter than 30")....draw weight .... anything attatched to the string such as leeches..peep...even brass knocks have an effect on advertised speed.

String & cable stretch will get the bow out of factory spec. You may at the beginning on a new bow had it set at 70 but after the string & cables settle in... you could have lost a little draw weight or even cams or cam be somewhat out of time. Shooting in hot weather can stretch them out as well and some string & cable materials can just constantly creep.

Checking your poundage on a good accurate scale...measuring your axel to axel distance and brace height in accordance to spec. If out of spec...twisting up of cables or string to get everything back to factory may be needed. Small factors as this can rob the effiency of your bow.

Another factor is the rest.... shoot through bristle type rest such as a Whisker Biscut... will slow you down a little. Poor arrow flight ...will rob you of accuracy and speed.

It all depends on how you set your bow up. If you shoot lighter arrows and broadheads it will shoot faster etc. My bow advirtises to shoot over 300 but with my set-up it sure dont because I choose to shoot a lighter more safer arrow.
