I think this big storm went north of Owensboro yesterday and only crossed into Kentucky near him. It sure looked inpressive on radar if this is the one.

Just click the image and it will redirect you to another site, its 2 minutes long
You can usually spit across the creek and hop a few rocks to the other side, but not today

Sunny and hot here all day long for a change.
We're usually the ones getting pounded with severe weather.

I watched a funnel cloud pass right over my house last evening around 7:00.It has sure laid some rain down here the past 2 days,Wed afternoon driving home from work I caught the tailend of a storm they called straightline winds, but I never saw straightline winds twist trees around like that and snap them off,or pick up whole above ground swimming pools and dump them in the road. The creek that runs along Hwy 177 by Butler,Ky flash flooded the worst I've ever seen in my life.
Master B,I probably did the rough framing on the condo's you live in,were they Erpenbeck condos in Farmview?Thought I might add that's Gunpowder Creek not Southfork.

I'm pretty sure is South Fork Creek, I mean thats what our condos are named after. It runs behind me and flows into Gunpowder on Pleasant Valley. Right?

If it's the creek that crosses US 42 like I thought I saw in the pictures and runs between FarmView and Pleasant Valley Road then it's Gunpowder creek,SouthFork Creek crosses 42 past Union close to the Gallatin county line, could be the southfork of Gunpowder though?

Here is how this creek works:
South Fork run under the bridge that crosses US42 towards Camp Ernst. It winds back behind me and travels down Pleasant Vally. It stays as South Fork till you reach Crystal Creek Circle. Then it turns into Gun Powder which goes under Camp Ernst Road and then to the river. Not sure what I was thinking on my previous post. It's all the same creek.
Check the map out below and if the link doesnt work, type in Rio Grande Circle, Florence, 41042 and then follow the map.

I didn't look at mapquest, but I hunted that ground when it was only farms owned by the Erpenbeck's and Kahmann's,I have USGS Topo's,I just know it's Gunpowder most likely the South Fork of Gunpowder Creek.I've been the entire length of that creek to the Ohio River before. The only creek called "SouthFork Creek" in Boone County is where I told you down 42 past Union near Green Mountain ballfield it runs into Big Bone at the Ohio.
Meant to add that opposite 42 from Pleasant Valley Road is "Gunpowder Road" hence the creeks name.

SouthFork road
Are you talking about the road that you are on when you get off of the Verona exit? That is 14, when you make it all the way down to 42 there is another small road called mud lick road it is named after the creek, I think the creek you are speaking of is farther down and is close to the Boone-Gallitan Border.

Yes it's close to the Boone-Gallatin border the road runs back to the rock quarry on the river back there,I have a friend who owns 500 acres on the opposite side of the creek that you get to at the end of Steele Bottom Road, the guy who used to post here as "Watermelon" hunts his BIL's place on SouthFork Church Road, manages to kill a B&C buck every year around there too. It's not right at Green Mt Ballpark, just not that far from there. The creek Master B is talking about is the south fork of Gunpowder creek, the creek I'm talking about is "SouthFork Creek" =

The photo of the funnel cloud above was taken by Kathy Colvin and was taken from Bishop Ridge Road. This is the same funnel cloud that residents saw go over Cardinal Ridge and move toward the McKinneysburg area.

Ever heard of different branches of the same creek? I left a link for KGS maps that give the answer.
