How Hard To Get Title On Jon Boat?

Looking at a Jon Boat w/ trailer without a title and wondering how hard it is to get one and approximately how much? Any thoughts or watch-outs here?

Not too hard...I did it one time and had very little info about the boat. In fact, I didn't know the make and guessed the year. They were ok with that---of course I knew them at the court house too..If you don't, be prepped with some creative info. I think it cost me around 40 or 50 bucks to "create" the title tho--plus registration costs....shame too.....since the boat cost me a bottle of 20 dollar whiskey at the time :D

I registered a boat that had no title and no serial number. The clerk told me if I engraved a number on it, and gave it a name, she could create a title for me. Voila! Ready to go.

Mine still had the s/n plate, all I had to do was take a pencil and make an impression of the s/n. No problems. Don't recall the cost, but it wasn't much.

i just went to the court house and had to fill out and afadavid explaining where i got the boat and when.it didnt cost more than 10 dollars to get a title.this was about 4 years ago.

I had a boat one time that had the s/n number, they ran the number and came up with a name. I had to find this guy and get him to sign a paper I got from the court house.

google around at the state transportation dept seems like I read some information about this very situation.

I am in the same boat (pun intended). They told me in Madison County to imprint my motor serial number and bring it in. They would use that as the boats HIN.
