My brother caught this dandy Tuesday, since I've not even got my boat wet this year I'll post a picture of his success. It weighed 7lb & 10oz.

Yeah he sure caught a good one! Wish I could of gone with him. He really tore em up that day. He said he boated about 20 fish, had 2 four pounders in the mix to boot, the rest just average. A tributary of lake cumberland is all he would say. The brother is pretty secretive about his honey-holes, he usually fishes alot of tornements so it could be anywhere. I do know that he really likes FishingCreek and the water is low (( dam construction)) so that would explain the john boat!

Ahhh, nice fish! If you narrow it down to the trib's that still leaves a lot of water on the big C, lol. My bet would be fishing creek (oil center maybe) or buck creek. Either way, nice fish. My two biggest LM's came from that area as well.
Also, I love the jon boat and would like to have one just like it to get to those hard to reach areas.

That used to be my boat. I can tell you one thing, that boat would'nt hold the fish thats been caught out of it! Been rode hard and put up wet, I do miss it. Bro calls it the stump jumper!

I had a john boat like that one before. I had it all fixed up like a bass boat. I made a deck for the back seat area and covered the area where the battery and gas tank were located. Made it so that I opened up two latches and raised the deck to fill the tank and had the on-board charger cord sticking out enough so I could just plug it up and charge the battery. The middle section I made it bigger with the plywood and made an opening in the front side that was down inside the boat to store life jackets and other essential items. Next to that I made a homemade live well out of a medium size cooler with a sump pump kit from wally world. I used the kit to fill the live well and drilled a hole in the bottom of the cooler and ran a piece of pvc pipe through the the cooler and out the bottom of the boat and used a rubber plug to plug the drain hole. Next I ran the sump pump kit hose out the side of the boat low enough down the side so that I could pump water into the home made live well. Worked like a charm and had a battery operated bait saver attached to the cooler so the fish could have fresh oxygen. Next I made a storage compartment in the front section of the boat to store tackle storage boxes and other items that I would need.
Bought the boat, trailer, and 9.0 hp outboard motor for $ 500.00 and sold it for $ 1600.00. Plus I installed outdoor carpet all over the inside of the boat and on all the plywood that was mounted to the boat to help quiet any sounds of stepping around in the boat. Hooked up a bow and stern lights for night time running and added a small fish graph to tell me the water temp and the depth I was fishing. Seems to me I sure caught a lot more fish out of that small John Boat than any other boat I ever owned.:)
