Here are a couple of fish I've shot on recent trips to Barkley Lake. I use a Browning Baracuda bow with an AMS reel and muzzy arrows.

I did it years ago on Cumberland. Never had much luck though did'nt take me long to give it up. Crappie biting too good. I have thought about trying again. I have this old crossbow that I have thought would be good to set up for that. Has anyone out there that you know of ever rigged up a crossbow? I think it would be nice to hand it to anyone in the boat when the opportunity presented itself. (( I'm left handed)) so I think it would be pretty cool to have something that anyone could use.

The crossbow probably wouldn't work too good. You only want 45-50 lbs to bowfish.

Why do you say that? I have been using a 60lb recurve for years.

I don't like the arrow to shoot completely thru the fish. Just my personal preference.

This is a very weak crossbow!
