Caught a mess of 25 'gills and about 10 crappie, big handsized ones, in my pond today. Catchin' em on small green curly tail jig mostly, a few on a mepps spinner.
Gonna be a fish fry !

Good to hear, we caught a pretty decent mess of males about 3 weeks ago.

I plan on going to a smalll local lake Friday morning when i get off work. I can't wait!

slayed 'em again tinight,19 bluegill and 5 nice crappie in about an hour.
Gettin' tired of cleanin' fish, but its a good tired !

I know what you mean. Last weekend my buds and I cleaned 116 gills and 20 shellcrackers. Over the last 3 weeks we have torn the bluegill up. They seem to be much larger this year on KY Lake, but it's catfish time now. We are going over to Barkley this afternoon to try some honey holes we normally catch fish in.

caught 42 nice ones most the size of your hand on Cumberland today:D

Well, Barkely wasn't quite ready. We caught 10 cats Friday but only 5 took a ride in the live well. We decided to go back to KY Lake on Saturday and brought home 27 gills and 1 cracker, but we went to some new places we hadn't fished this year. I'm probably not going out again until after Monday to miss the holiday water traffic. We are camping next weekend at Barkely and the catfishing should be about right.

Leggy and I are gonna try to catch a bucketful of gills over the holiday. We had some catfish last night and it was great, got me in the mood for a bluegill fry.
