Guist Creek

Thinking about taking the kids to Guist Creek to do a little fishing. Anyone been there lately? Advice appreciated

Was there last Saturday and never got a bite. The water was around 65 and murky coming in to the lake, but it looked good at the dam. Might try the gills over there this weekend, but I know it will be crowded for sure.

Head up into the creek, under the bridge, and find the creek channel. Fish in deeper holes up there with night crawlers or chicken livers, I never fail to catch catfish up there. Throw spoons and rooster tails for hybrids if your kids get bored catching cats. If neither of those work you can usually catch all kinds of bluegills up shallow in 2-3 feet of water.
