Me nad my buddy tried to get out today to set some beaver traps but due to high waters and snow we decided to put it off til tomorrow. I can't wait. I have only caught one beaver in my life and that was this year.

Also, is there a market for squirell hides? I'm talkin about fox and grey squirells. I would mind to skin em and put em up for a half doller or something.

Thanks,
Zach ellis

Kytrapper17,

Good luck on the beaver. I waited the other day for the water to go down, when it did I set 4 330's. Had to tear holes in dams to get good water flow. Went back next day, two were sprung by sticks being pulled downstream other two still set but those sneaky beaver packed mud back to fill the holes and never slid down the dam like they usually do for me. Maybe I'll have some this morning.

snareman: Me and a buddy set up a small creek for a man who is wanting ALL the beavers out. We guessed there to be 3 or 4 there. We made 2 castormounds, set 2 slides, and set 4 denholes. We have had nothing yet. I can't believe it. I figured we would catch soemthing by now. We are going to give it til Thursday cause we have to shut down for Fur Auciton this Saturday in E-town. Did you do any good?

Kytrapper17,

Caught a 36 pounder on Tuesday in a 330 and a 31 pounder in a snare on Wednesday. Not bad for only having out 4 sets.

We are still zero. I believe the beavers we have been after have left that little creek. Yesterday on our way home from E-town We happened to look over in a field and it was flooded as far as you can see. There was a little creek not 13 feet wide that they had dammed up and it had flooded this field. Also along the bank every tree you caould see was nawed all the way around the base. Some trees were HUGE! It was like a paradise. We stopped to get permission to trap but no one was home. We are going back over there this afternoon to see if we can trap them. I'm pumped!

Going to put out beaver sets in the morning. I've got 2 huts in a swamp I'm going to trap. Hopefully I'll have a few over the next few days. Trying to catch as many as I can in the next few weeks. It's allmost over.[:(]

17,

Finally caught the beaver I've been after. He'll weigh between 60 and 70 pounds. Took him to taxidermist who wanted 375.00 for mount. I talked him down to 275.00 Still alot of cash but I've trapped many beaver never to get one this large.

I'm pretty sure the beavers we are after have moved out, There is no sign and we have caught no beavers. The only thing we have caught is 2 muskrats. I said it was a shame. I spent all season trying to find and trap some rats and now when we I am beaver trapping I start catching some.

Beaver tend to move in Feb. looking to mate. Some will move off but others will move in, don't give up yet. I've caught 1 muskrat in a 330 by accident.
