Had a big one break my heart today

Went out to cedar creek today despite the wind. I had my girl friend with me and was trying to catch anything that would bite. I tied on a jig and crawdad trailer and through over into a cedar tree. I made a bad cast and got it caught on an over hanging limb. Something exploded on it and the fight was on. I got it out of the thick stuff but was still caught on the limb. I took the boat over to the tree and saw just how big it was. I have one that is a little over 6 on my wall and this one was at least 1lb larger. I was trying to get the boat into that junk to grab her and started to pull her up when she broke the line and my heart. After that I was ruined the rest of the day. The wind was whipping and I just couldn't get back into it. I am off next Tuesday and had planned on heading to Cumberland but I may make a trip back to Cedar Creek.

Theres some goodens in there for sure...myself my best is probably only a 4lber out of there but i dont fish it much...youll get him next time though

Oh man, that's the worst! I had a similar thing happen to me. I was fighting a fish in the river when he got me tangled in some wood. Well, I couldn't get the boat turned quick enough in the current and he broke off. When I finally got turned around, I headed up to the log and there he was still hooked and fighting the heck out of the tree. I dipped the net down into the water and got that sucker :)

Losing one like that really puts a dent in your day.:(

I caught a 6 lb there last spring. There's some good ones in there.
