Where you guys drifting or anchored? Every time I head down there for blues the wind is blowing the opposite direction the current is being pulled from(canal) and I end up drift fishing. Have the channels moved up on the rocks yet? Used to wear them out on Ky. this time of year on a slip bobber sight fishing the bank............

Drifting in 30-40 feet of water,the channels are supposedly moving on to the rocks but I dont fish for them much anymore,wind is usually a problem for me too out on the main part of the lake,just charge up the batteries and wear out the trolling motor!!!

I drift fish(for blues) quite a bit on the Ohio, but I usually don't start until after the spawn. When they're still moving upriver I like to anchor on the ledges and fish 4-6 rods on the first two drops. After the spawn, I use the trolling motor and a deck mounted depth finder and start wearing out the structure.When I'm fishing like this, most of my bites come in the 32-36 ft. range. Odd as it seems, I've put some pretty good sized(20-40lbs) flatties in the boat like this too.
