I have cleared .273 acres in a big thicket for a lab-lab plot. What is a ballpark quanity of fertilizer to put on it?

I would say 200lbs of 10-10-10. Fertilizer has went from 3.50 a bag to 12.00 a bag. The fertilizer for my plot was 127.00. I did soil samples and what it called for was 450.00 and that is no corn or cowpeas eather. They told me that triple 10 will cover most everything.

As cheap as a soil test is, you need to do that first to tell you exactly...but, depending on your soil, a 1/4 acre plot would do fine with 50 lbs. of fertilizer...something low on N like a 6-12-12 if the seed is not inoculated...if inoculated, you can use 0-19-19. Lab-lab is a legume, so if inoculated, it will produce it's own nitrogen. I would usually recommend that you forget about fertilizing until you see what the pH is, but LL will tolerate a wide range of pH's.

Get a soil test before you do anything. You can buy a ph tester for yourself or use your local extension office and get additional info.
