Is this possible? What type of trap would you use? Live trap? What would you "bait" with? I'd just like to shoot everyone but I don't have the time to wait on them. They're driving me CRAZY:eek:

Saw one in my "future" sweet corn patch a few weeks back. Set a live trap with a piece of apple in it, caught him the next day. Took him to the more civilized part of Louisville, where the soccer mom types could fully appreciate him.

How big was the live trap? You just put the apple inside? Is it really that easy?

Big enough to catch a coon dog.
Yep.

A 220 Conibear directly over the hole of run will also work wonders. Obivously due to the nature of the trap use caution in an area where pets may be.

I'm not a trapper, but can you use a 220 on land???????

You can use it on land, but not out of season. Better have your Nuisance trappers license.

Anyone seeing any half grown whistle pigs about? I'm thinking of frying a few when they get half grown. My wife says she won't cook coons, muskrats, or groundhogs but I think she might. :)

A 1.5 jump trap in the run well away from the hole is my favorite way if neighborhood pets aren't a problem. Stake it down tight because they pull like bulldozers.

Young groundhogs eat like good beef. Old groundhogs are not fun to skin and not fun to eat.

A 1.5 or 2 coilspring or long spring will do quite well, that's all I've ever used.

a 1.5 or 2 in a coilspring or a long spring will do just fine. Simply slide it down in the hole and you'll get him sooner or later depeding on how many holes he has and when he decides to use that particular one.

would you be willing to get rid of the animals or perhaps the skulls?
