its a bit late to ask for advise isn't it? the dxt is a fine bow, i shot one yesterday and thought it would make a fine hunting bow. the draw cycle is a little rough at the end. i did not like the way the cam fell off to the valley and straight to the wall. i would think in a hunting application this could cause the arrow to bounce on the rest.

the bow shot well, and aimed well despite the much needed improvement to the grip. i do not have an affection for the Mathews grip at all. my bow hand tends to ride up on the grip, and using a cotton glove in the early bow season would create a problem for me. i changed the grip on every Mathews bow i have owned and have been satisfied with them. the one thing i see year in and year out is that Mathews bows do not break...meaning, the limbs stay together.

Got my DXT a month or so ago and am in love with the way it shoots. Have been playing around with the poundage and shooting a whole lot more than I have in years past. I am extremely happy with mine. Hope you are half as happy with yours when you get it. Good luck.

I bought a DXT a couple of months ago and I love it. I have shot it every week at least two to three times a week and it still impresses me. Its very short and very accurate. Forks country store will hook you right up with a mathews. You wont be disapointed if you get one. But its all about what you want and can afford. I cant wait untill deer season. Didnt take it turkey hunting this year. It was hard even killing on with a shotgun.:)

I just got my DXT in today. I'm already in love with it and haven't even shot it. What kinds of setups do you other guys have, ie. sights, rests, and quivers. I've ordered the Mathews T5 quiver system, but am up in arms about which sight and rest to go with. I'm pretty sure I'll get the QAD ultra rest, but am still deciding about the sight. Anyone tried the G5 optix XR yet? I've heard it's got a bad rattle to it. I like the Toxonics line and the Spott Hogg. Any of you using these?

I shoot a Vital Gear Pinhead 5. This is a local bow accessory company based right where I live in Lexington. The pins on this sight are milled to 1/1000th. They are very light and very bright. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are a little pricey, but the weight and the brightness of the pins is what sold me. I believe they have a website you can check the sights out on, but have to actually purchase the sights through one of their authorized dealers or off ebay. I got my set at Evan's Gun and Archery on Southland Drive in Lexington. I have shot hundreds of arrows through my DXT and the sights have no rattle or sound coming from them that I can tell.

Good luck and shoot'em straight.

I have the Muzzy zero effect arrow rest on mine and tru-glo sights. I dont know what model the sights are but it is one of the new ones that just came out. Im am very impressed with that set up. The Muzzy rest looks funny on a bow but is the real deal. Works great. I shoot it 2-3 times a week and have not heard or felt any vibration out of them. I think I gave about 80 bucks for the rest and about 50 for the sights. a whole lot cheaper then most set ups and works like a said great.

Keith Meador, The grip on the Matthews is why I chose the Bow Tech back in 2006. I hope they change that factory grip in the future.

Needless to say I think you made a good decision. People can say what they want to about them. But I have one and I love it. You will to. Shoot what ever makes you feel comfotable dont listen to what other people have to say about them. There wifes just will not let them spend that kind of money. Or they would have one to..
