My dad used to get free seed for ffod plots from a game warden that came around here. he retired and I don't realy know the game wardens now and I don't even think we have one that patrols my neck of the woods! Can I get this seed some other way? Maybe by sending enough money for shipping and handeling to the state?

Call your private lands biologist or county officer. The food plot seed is a mix proivided by quail unlimited.

does it have anything for the deer? my dads stuff had chufa and millet in it. Which was awsome for the deer and turkey!

I'm not aware of any mixes we gave out that had chufa in it.

The mix we have and have been giving out for over 15 years has milo, millet, buckwheat, sunflower, and soybeans. They are in 1/4 acre bags intended to be planted then left fallow 3-4 years with new plantings nearby. This provides food, cover and a way of converting fescue.

how do you think it would do in shady spots. We have cleared out some small spots in the woods. They get good miday sun but lack in morning and afternoon. We plan on limeing and fertilizeing as needed!
