The red flowers you see are crimson clover. This plot has several things in it but the crimson clover is really pretty this time of year. I'll mow it all off here next week so the ladino clover can come in.

Just wondering just exactly what all do you have in it? And how do the deer and turkey like it? I started two this year and thinking about another, and I'm helping my cousin get 3 or 4 small ones started just wondering what makes a good one?

Fall Wildlife Mix
1. Austrian Winter Peas
2. Rape
3. Wheat
4. Oats
5. Crimson Clover
6. Ladino Clover

The deer and turkey eat the rape and winter peas as soon as they come up in the fall and the rape stays green all winter. The crimson clover comes on strong in spring. You mow it in late may and the white clover feeds all summer. It works out pretty good and it's cheap. I get it at Mill St Farm Supply in Taylorsville.

do you think it would grow in the woods with good mid day sun? Or do you have anything else you would recomend?

To get anything to grow well you need 50% sun. If the plot is in the woods it will be acidic. Put out a bunch of lime.
