Hey buddy, where do or did you do most of your hunting? Two of us hunt, only been hunting about 3-4 years. Still learning and would love to have somebody with a little more knowledge then us.

Quak, I live about 45 minutes from Paducah. Althought I wouldn't have room all the time, theres always mornings I would love to have someone to hunt with. I'm not what you would call a superstar, but we kill birds every year.
I think for next year, several from the board need to get together and do something hunting together. I had intentions on getting together with Quacker this year but it never worked out like I intended.

I hunt the lakes from time to time during the season. You need to come up and join me on a hunt. We may get into them a couple times. You are difenately welcome.

I'd like to get in on some hunting too. I have lots of duck and geese experience, decoys, and I can call. I just don't have any access locally to hunt the birds, and we really don't have many around here anyway. I've been going to Canada for a week the last 3 years.

We used to have a really sweet pit close to Reelfoot Lake in Fulton County. Those were the days, sure miss them!

Hammer what ever happened to your all's pit in fulton county?
I have hunted in the bottoms down there a couple of times myself. It seems that when the water is up its good but until the river floods it is hit or miss. I am anxious to learn more about that neck of the woods.

pintail, we hunted in a pit that was close to the refuge there. We always got first look at "new" birds (I'm talking geese here). The blind had electricity and natural gas piped to it, and it was a cadillac. The guys also drilled a well in front of it, and could run the pump all night, so we always had open water even after the coldest of nights, so you could really hammer the ducks there too. What happened to it was everybody and their dog wanted to start hunting that area, and somebody else could afford to pay higher dollar. This was owned by friends, and we usually were able to get over to hunt 5-10 times a season. Some of their relatives had a pit near Lake Isom (I never got to hunt that one, was in the early 80s) where they absolutely smoked the geese.
