Well Im starting to see the results of some fescue I sprayed. Ill have to respray some of it again but it looks like I got a 90% kill. Its a little over 15 ac. that I sprayed.
I used 3 qt of 41% gly per 25 gal of water and drove about 5 mph.
At $100 per 2 1/2 gal jug its double last yrs price.
Ill be spraying more next yr. but I intend to plant something next winter.
I lack evergreens and shrubs so Im thinking about planting pine seedlings for cover and shrubs for soft mast, browse and cover.
Does anybody have any suggestions????

Good looking chunk of ground you have Al. I know you target deer and turkey. Well you asked what everyone would recommend.:D

You could go with leaving it fallow or using a smother crop and then going fallow for a couple of years. You would gain great edge habitat, big field full of little critters, good turkey nesting area and good deer bedding area.
All for the cost of little or nothing.

Gsp, letting it go native was my first plan mabey Ill still do it. The pump on my sprayer just quit working:( so Ill need to till the ground to get a complete kill on the fescue. Mabey Ill just wait and see what comes up naturally after I disturb the soil.
Ive had 2 neighbors call me wanting to know what the heck Im doing ruining all that good hay.
Two years ago we had a huge covey of quail but they disappeared.
