My bird was:
25 lbs.
10.250" beard
1" spurs

Dink's bird was:
20lbs
10.250" beard
1" spurs

It was an awesome evening. These 2 birds came in to some soft calling looking for love. This tagged both of us out this year.

I would like to borrow your scales for my next turkey:rolleyes:

Why would you interject such rudeness? Why not congratulate him instead of saying something like that. I haven't even seen a tom this season and I am not as jealous as you seem.

JSC, congrats to you and your buddy on fine birds. I wish I could get an evening hunt to work out that well.

Thanks XI, I guess some people just can't help themselves.

No problem.

Let me ask you something. What kind of setup and calling sequence did you use to fool these birds? Were you setup close to their roosting site?

We were set up in a part of the farm that we had not hunted yet this spring. The turkeys have roosted there in the past. We were actually trying to put one to bed for this morning. We didn't put out any decoys and just done some clucks and soft yelps every now and then. I think the birds were heading up the hill to go to roost. My buddy saw them and told me to start calling. Like I said I was just soft calling with a mouth call and they came back down the hill. Stay positive and stay after them. It is just starting to get good IMO.
