Had a jake and hen sneak in on me and took the jake. As I went to get my bird the hen and another tom were running down the trail. Didn't hear a gobble one.

Congrats - I think there's alot of birds moving without being vocal which causes us to loose patience and give up to quick to move - at least me anyway

Congrats! The males have not been real vocal where I'm at. However, I have heard lots of hens.

Birds were lighting it up today. So were the other hunters. That's public land though. I hate the weekend hunts.

Reading this forum makes me feel better. I apparently am not the only one not hearing much gobbling or really not seeing a lot of strutting either.
