I haven't contacted the local EMC provider yet but I am trying to get a feel for how much it will cost to have a power line run into our property. Depending on how they want to run it I'm guessing it is about 200 yards from the closest power pole. Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks!

They will want to run it in the straightest/shortest line possable so if there are trees in the path say goodbye to them. If anything like here with the co-op they will run 1000 or so feet then charge so much per pole after that. We just had one ran across Lake Malone to a development I have been involved with over two years and it cost a cool 15 grand just to the first pole on our side. Lots of trees had to come down for that and all they did was cut and let them fall where they may and the cleanup is going to be on us.
About all you can do is contact them and they will send someone out to look at the project.

I am dealing with that now. Are you talking about your property in Butler Cunty? If so I would say it would be WRECC if so , if you atre building a house they will pay for all of it. If you are not putting a permanate structure on it you will have to pay for all of it.

here we have tri county electric and they do as duster said and give you the first 2 spans free (1000ft).. not sure on the cost after that. if you cut the trees if needed then it shouldn't cost that much... good luck and keep us posted:)

I have Nolin Recc in Elizabethtown, Ky. It is right at 1550' to my house from the road. They paid for the first 1000' and then it cost me $3800 for the rest. This was about 4yrs ago.

Yup, it's for the property in Butler county. I think what we are going to do is probably put a 12X32' bunk house down on the lower level next to the river. Then a cabin on the hill in a couple of years. I'm guessing it's just under 1000ft. to our road in. I'd get a contractor to run juice to wherever we need it from there. Guess I'll call WRECC soon. Thanks guys!

Why not just build a big gerbal wheel and put that horse you call a dog in it:D.

He's too lazy, only gets spurts of energy between naps. Kinda like me!
