Got down to my farm Thursday about noon and around 3PM saw a bald eagle standing beside a drainage ditch out in the middle of a field. He lifted off and circled around for about half an hour and then left. Didn't want to say anything about it but five different people that live near there all told me that they have seen an eagle in there over the last three weeks. Seems to be only one. There is an active nest about 6 or 7 miles away as the crow flies and another about three miles away. I'm hoping this one finds a mate and nests on my land. I think that would be really cool. I lived beside a lake in Wyoming for a while and used to sit out on the patio in the afternoons and watch a pair of eagles that stayed in a dead tree about 200 feet from the patio. They sure caught a lot of cutthroat and I loved watching them.
