Rough weather came thru here...

I was caught in the outskirts of a tornado catagory cell, at least thats what the weather service called it :rolleyes:..I was on my way to a feed store in Knott co and had to pull off the road because the wind was pushing me off the road :eek:...I literally couldent see the end of my hood. Im sure the wind was gusting upwards of 60-70 MPH as it almost pushed my truck off the shoulder into the ditch. Roughly .30 caliber sized hail right along with it. I have to say my cheeks didnt un-clinch for about an hour :D I had checked the weather earlier but then it only said thunderstorms. When I was forced off the road I turned on the local radio and it said a tornado cell was moving thru and its center was just a few miles from me..I said to myself....Self, better be looking for a ditch or a culvert to jump in to:D Luckily it didnt come to that...:p

Glad you made it out ok!! Bet those cheeks were clinched up tight enough to pinch a hole in your seat!!:eek: I heard reports of all that stuff moving through after I got out of class. I looked like a baby tornado tore through a small spot in Bowling Green along Scottsville road right by SteaknShake. All the damage was in a small line, on one side of the road a roof was torn and signs were shattered and everywhere and a few windows were broken. On the other side signs and trees were shattered and thrown EVERYWHERE, a roof was torn off the athletic club, and thats as far as I could see from the road. City was fixin the traffic lights and lines when I went past. I haven't heard anything about it yet though, but it looked like a small warzone:eek:

Now that is funny. Glad you made it out alright KYBOY. Do you have a damage report now? How bad a storm was it?

Lots of trees down. Power still out in lots of places. Some small building damage and I heard of a house or two that had the roofs ripped off but we got lucky. A few fires caused by down power lines but they went out fast. The hills blocked most of the bad wind. I guess the reason it was so bad where I was at was because I ended up caught out in one of the only open spots in eastern,Ky:D Even the news last night said we were extremly lucky to have gotten out with as little damage as we had.
