That's too bad. They had some pretty good food.

Is that the same place as Patti's, that's by the lake that serves bread in flower pots? I've been there 2X but both at night. The pic doesn't look like the place I was at. Funny thing is, while eating, we all talked about how that place was a tinderbox waiting to be lit. i was looking for exit signs the whole time I was there. Seriously.

Owned by the same people but this place is right down the street.

I always thought the food was better before the sweeties from Pattis took it over. They served a ham sandwich on homemade bread that was fit to kill.
Strange that two landmark restaurants in that area have burned in the last couple of weeks. The Cumberland House on 641 was lost also.

I remember eating there as a kid. Does Hugh Knoth still have a barbeque joint in the Kuttawa area?

Is this the place that serves the killer pork chops down there? If so, man those were some of the best pork chops I have ever eaten!

The Cumberland house was fantastic. Pricey, but fantastic. I had heard that it went downhill last year after the previous owners' passing.

Knoth's bbq is still there.

No, this was another establishment just a stone's throw down the street.

We thought the same thing. Seemed the food was better and the prices were reasonable before they took it over. With
exception to their lunch buffet...Friday & Saturday nights were too expensive for country cooking in my opinion. Might as well go up the street and get a porkchop... not that much difference in price.
Whats kinda ironic.... we ate at Pattis last Saturday.. there was a packed house down toward the Iron Kettle..the porch was standing full. Sort of a shocker to see the fire damage footage on tv. They had the business and accordingly...they will rebuild.

The Saturday nite seafood at the Cumberland House was as good as it gets. I guess I'll be spending more Saturday nites at Buzzard rock:rolleyes:

I have a great aunt from Eddyville, and I have been eating Knoth's bbq since I was a child. That's the best sauce and bbq going. We still buy the sauce and keep it around to use when we have bbq.

If I recall correctly, Knoth's used to be before the dam(it's just past the dam @Barkley now) and it burned down. You can still see the concrete slab. I'm talking back in the '70's.
