How do I add music to a slide show?

I have created a few slide shows on the computer. How do I add music to 'em? I've tried YouTube. It won't complete whatever I'm trying to do. Do I need extra software?

Don't add music. i shut it down when music comes on! I want to see stuff not hear it!

If doing it on Power Point, go to the top of page, clik INSERT, select sound/music, load it from a file you have save.
