anyone make their own calls?

I love to make them but by the time season rolls around I'm a little tired of hearing hen calls. Thought if anyone else made their own calls you could post a few pics to see if there is any new ideas out there. Here are a few I made this year.

Good looking calls, what wood do you use?
I have collected a ton of homemade box and slate calls. I average 3 a month (!) I have to keep some at work so the wife doesn't find out.
I'm currently waiting on these two to get here, in mail now.

two of these are cedar with a walnut lid and the checkered one is all walnut. that is a cool looking slate!

The bottom slate is cocobola wood and the top one is african zebra wood with ebony inlays. On slates the wood is more or less cosmetic but on boxes the wood choice makes a lot of difference sound wise. I make sure to use all of them in the field. I like that 12 gauge "washer" you put under the screw.
If you can find any, 1/4 sawn sycamore and wormy american chesnut make beautiful box calls. By far cedar is my favorite, at last count I had 15 or so cedar box calls. If made right they have the sweetest sound to them.

my dad makes some every year and i have called in toms with them,he got done with one a couple weeks ago that is goin in my vest.

A buddy of mine makes his own mouth calls. He gave me one this winter and I used it this weekend to call in my son's longbeard. Gonna have to get him to make me a few more, lol.
