We got to the spot where we was going a little late this morning the birds was above us and down the valley.I got the blind up and got her ready.I gave a couple yelps, plucks and he sounded off that bird was on target to us and i thought this is going to be good for her she has never killed one and this is the best chance she ever had but anyway it came within 75yards of us and than just shutup i dont know if a hen led him off or what but i think it was a creek that was down there we sat there for another hour and i couldnt get it to answer so i dont know it could have been a coyote messed with him to there are alot of coyotes in the area were we were. But anyway she had fun and that is the main thing. The day will come for her i know.I just wish that she could get a shot at one so she would see what the feeling of getting a tom is all about.Hope you all liked the sort but sweet story.Good luck to all this season.

shucks i wish it had worked out for her
question did you just put the blind up today? or had it been there awhile?
if today i wonder if that made him jittery...and many times turkeys just seem to go to places where they know the ladies will show up maybe you just wasnt in the right spot...
maybe she will have better luck next weekend

You and her had a GREAT day if she had fun. Actually not connecting may be a good thing. Might want her to want it even more. Congratulations to you for doing something that probably 99 out of 100 people didn't do today, take their daughter turkey hunting.

Making memories you hunting with your daughter is what she'll remember the most anyway - the bird probably got with hens hopefully next time she'll get to put the smack down on one

My little girl came close on Saturday as well. we had 2 Toms and 4 Jakes come within about 40 yards, she wasn't comfortable shooting that far so we let them pass. Sunday we had 3 birds come in to about 75 yards and just hang up and then just shut up, she says she wants to go again this Saturday so wish her luck. (and me).

Im wanting to get her into hunting so bad both of my girls but one is just 6 and the other is eleven right now they both go with me but my eleven year old is my shooter and the other is my eyes and caller she wont shoot that big of gun and i really dont want her to because it might scare her out from guns..lol but anyway we always have a good time no matter what and thats always worth it.:)I wish all good luck this season i killed a double beard last year in ohio it was a really great bird i dont know if i will ever top that bird but i always have fun turkey hunting no matter what. There is nothing in the world like getting up before day break getting to the hot spot and letting a turkey wake you up:))I LOVE IT AND I ALWAYS WILL GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL>THIS SAT IS WHAT WE ALL BEEN WAITING ON ALL THE PREP ALL THE WORK ALL THE TIME ALSO MONEY HEHEHE NOW LETS GETRRRRRRRRR DONE:))GOOD LUCK ALL
