Youth season got much better on the second day of 08. After not hearing a gobble yesterday, we decided to change locations.
On Sunday morning, we settled into one of our favorite spots, put out a few decoys and after an owl hoot, found ourselves surrounded by gobblers.
Following a flydown cackle, and some yelps and purrs from my Legacy Real Dill diaphragm, we had two gobblers strut into the decoys at about 20 yards. Jonathan took the largest of the pair.
Twenty pounds, seven inch beard and 1 1/8 spurs.
A great time for father and son and a great way to start off spring.
